Manchester United boss was reluctant to give any details about Michael Carrick’s contract extension situation.
The long-serving midfielder’s current contract with Manchester United is set to expire in the summer, and he’s yet to be offered a new deal by the United officials.
Van Gaal was asked about the 34-year-old’s future in his earlier press conference, but he refused to divulge any details. He insisted that although he is aware of the current state of Carrick’s contract situation, he declined to share it with the media.
“I am always involved because I am the manager. I do not discuss this with you,” said the Dutchman.
