Manchester United are now favourites in the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain star Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to the bookies.
Ibrahimovic’s contract with PSG is set to expire this summer, and the Swede is reportedly looking to secure a move to the Premier League, having confirmed that there is interest from the English clubs and describing the Premier League as “the league in the world all people and fans speak about”.
Following his comments, English giants Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal are all being tipped to secure the striker’s services.
The odds of United signing the 34-year-old have now been reduced from 5/2 to 7/4 as well.
Betway’s Alan Alger was quoted saying: “Betting vibes for Zlatan Ibrahimovic to move to the Premier League are strong and no stronger than in the north-west where Manchester United have been cut from 5/2 to 7/4 to sign the Swede.
“Ibrahimovic is still a handful for any world class centre back and he would suit the physical nature of English football.
“If reports of a £250,000-a-week contract to move to Old Trafford are true it could be too hard for him to resist.”
