Zinedine Zidane is believed to be looking at bringing either Nemanja Matic, or Marco Verratti to the Bernabeu this summer, as their pursuit for Paul Pogba is all but over.

The Real Madrid manager was initially in the race for Pogba’s signature, but is now faced with the reality that he will not sign the 23-year-old this summer.
Zidane now has to look for alternatives to the young Frenchman, and Spanish News Outlet AS believe that Marco Verratti and Nemanja Matic are the perfect candidates.
Earlier this month, Zidane lost out on Andre Gomes, after the Portuguese midfielder opted for a move to Barcelona. The youngster claimed that he chose the Catalans as he would prefer to win trophies with Barca, rather than earn high wages in Madrid.
Real Madrid, who recently rekindled their interest in Paul Pogba, are faced with the reality that Manchester United will snap up the £112 million France international. Zidane was initially interested in signing Pogba, but the Spanish giants were said to have been scared off by the massive price tag that Juventus placed on their midfield man.
The Red Devils, keen to regain their dominance in the footballing world, agreed to pay Juventus the massive £112 million fee to secure their former midfielder.
Zidane will now have to find alternatives to Pogba, but at a lesser price, of course.
The first candidate, Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic, was a key member of Jose Mourinho’s Premier League winning side of 2014/15 campaign. However, the Serbian couldn’t help the Blues from their disastrous 2015/16 season, which saw them finish 10th.
Marco Verratti, on the other hand, has been excellent for Paris Saint-Germain. The Italian has greatly impressed since his breakthrough to professional football. But the youngster may find it hard to get time on the pitch, as Zidane already has a star-studded squad.
