Jamie Carragher has made his dislike for Mario Balotelli well known by hitting out at him on Twitter.
The Italian joined Nice on a free transfer after being cast out by Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
And Jamie Carragher, never one to shy away from criticising a player, ripped into the striker on twitter.
He tweeted: “Balotelli on a free is still paying over the odds by Nice.”
The controversial 26-year-old was frozen out at Liverpool, as his attitude and controversy off the field ultimately led to his downfall. He was sent to train with the reserves, and was left out of Klopp’s plans altogether.
Balotelli signs a one-year contract with Nice, which will be the first club of his career that is in neither England nor Italy.
Many hailed Balotelli as a major coup by Liverpool when he signed for what seemed like a bargain at £16 million. However, by the end of the striker’s stay in Merseyside, it looked as if the Reds paid way over the odds for the forward. He failed spectacularly at the club, and only scored one Premier League goal for them in total.
Serie A side Sassuolo were also given the chance to sign Balotelli this summer, but turned the offer down, and he has now moved to France instead.
