Following the world record-breaking transfer of Paul Pogba earlier this summer, Manchester United have now signed yet another mega-money deal – this time, with a Mattress Company.

The Red Devils have signed their first ever official mattress and pillow partner, by agreeing a global partnership with Mlily. The deal between the two parties will last for five years.

As per the club’s official statement, “Mlily is highly experienced in producing and distributing mattresses and pillows, serving worldwide retail partners for many years. The company is a world leader in producing memory foam and other speciality foams, from which its mattresses are made.”

Richard Arnold, Manchester United’s group managing director, gave further insight into the deal, by stating:

“Mlily has an established track record of producing a high quality product. We want to make the best use of the latest technology and expertise that can help our team, which in this case is the sleep and recovery of players.

“A global partnership with us will certainly help Mlily achieve its global ambitions and bring a high quality product to our worldwide family of fans. We look forward to working together.”

As expected, football fans from around the world had something to say regarding this peculiar deal, and they did just that via twitter.

Here are some of the best reactions to the Manchester United-Mlily partnership:
