Belgian superstar and now Everton record goal scorer Romelu Lukaku is currently not yet prepared to put pen to paper to extend his stay with The Toffees as per reports from playsports Twitter are concerned.
Everton are putting in their best efforts to keep their hit man at the club and been at this deal for weeks but Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur recently suggested that this negotiation might not reach the happy ending everybody predicts as the player is not yet ready for such a commitment.
He tweeted: “Romelu Lukaku isn’t yet ready to sign his new contract. Or that’s what he told playsports after West Brom. Let’s see what happens. #efc.”
The deal was considered all but done when the player’s agent, Raiola, confirmed in December that his client had agreed to an extension and it was 99.9% done.
Nothing can be said for sure until Lukaku is pictured holding his contract along side club secretary David Harrison. Lukaku has been breaking records at the Merseyside club and recently became the first Everton striker since Gary Lineker and Greame Sharp in 1986 to reach 19 league goals in a season.
Lukaku is currently leading the race for the Premier League golden boot this season ahead of Harry Kane and Ibrahimovic and might just be the key for Everton heading towards much awaited silverware.
The club currently are in 6th spot and would want the player to put his signature on paper as soon as possible in order to finish the season in strong fashion and play European football next time around.
