Neymar Jr. has been spotted in London. However, his reason for being there has nothing to do with any sort of potential switch to Chelsea.
The Brazilian forward recently picked up a suspension that kept him out for three games when he was sent off in Barcelona’s 2-0 defeat to Malaga. The red card forced him to miss the Catalan club’s biggest game of the season against fierce rivals Real Madrid, even though they managed to win El Clasico through a last minute goal by Lionel Messi.
Neymar returned to action by helping his side beat Espanyol 3-0, and he now seems to have taken a small break from football, as he posted a picture with his sister Rafaella in London. While Stamford Bridge is certainly a sight to see in England’s capital, it is unlikely that the 25-year-old will be heading there anytime soon.
The Brazilian forward has been linked with a mega money move to Manchester United recently as well, but Red Devils’ manager Jose Mourinho insisted that he was only going to focus on realistic targets once the summer transfer window comes along.
Neymar has been a key figure for Barcelona this season, and put in the performance of his career so far in the Catalan giants’ infamous 6-1 win against Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League last 16. However, he could not prevent his team crashing out to Juventus in the quarter-finals, and they crumbled to a 3-0 defeat to the Old Lady.
Still, Neymar’s performance against PSG displayed his incredible talent, and it led to David Beckham admitting that it was the moment the Brazilian proved he was ready to take over from Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the next best player in the world.
