Ajax’s talented striker and new kid on the block Kasper Dolberg has been the attention seeker in the Dutch League this season, and for all the right reasons too. The player signed for the club in the summer last year and has been an instant hit with his squad, by already bagging in 20 goals along with an impressive seven assists in all competitions so far.
Dolberg was scouted by the same team that picked out Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Christian Eriksen to be future stars, and he proved them right by playing a stellar season, most recently scoring in a 4-1 win for Ajax over Lyon in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final.
The youngster has been under observation from big names around Europe, but the teams from Manchester seem most interested to battle it out between them to land their man. Dolberg, however, recently ended such transfer possibilities, as he claimed it was too soon to be considering such a move.
Fourfourtwo recently had the chance to catch up with the young striker, and while speaking on the aforementioned topic, he said: “My goal [this season] was to play for Ajax’s reserve team, become their best player and maybe get a few matches in the first team. But then Arek Milik went to Napoli and I got the chance.”
He then added: “It’s too big a step to go to City or United now. It’s important to keep on playing, as I don’t know what could happen in the future.”
