Celta Vigo striker John Guidetti has finally broken his silence since his team’s 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The ex-Manchester City man had vowed to keep the city of Manchester blue during his visit to England for Celta Vigo’s second leg semi-final encounter against the Red Devils in the Europa League.
However, things did not go as per the Swede’s intentions, as Jose Mourinho’s men knocked the La Liga side out of the competition with an aggregate 2-1 victory, to secure a place in the finals.
In fact, Guidetti himself was the center of attention following the match, as he missed a golden chance from close range with his last kick of the game, which could have sent his side through via the away goals rule.
IT. WAS. THAT. CLOSE!

The 25-year-old has since been mocked tremendously by the Manchester United fans on social media, and the striker has been holding his silence ever since the full-time whistle – until now.
Guidetti has now posted a heartfelt message on his official Instagram handle, which is as follows:
The Last 48 hours have been very difficult for me. I can’t stop thinking about what could have been… but that’s life that’s football, you win some you lose some. It hurts allot but they say time heals everything, so let’s hope that’s true. I also want to say that I am so proud of the team of the fans and also of my self. It has been a great journey, it did not end the way we wanted it to, but we gave it our very best and no one can ask for more. I also want to say congratulations to Manchester United for reaching the final. I wish them the very best for the final! We all cry but when the tears dry we get stronger!!! Gracias por todo!! THIS IS AFOUTEZA!!! #HALACELTA
