Kylian Mbappe could join the Gunners this summer, just because of his admiration for Arsene Wenger.
The 18-year-old sensation is the most sought after teenager in world football right now. The French striker is wanted by the likes of Real Madrid, PSG, Chelsea and Manchester United, yet the Monaco wonderkid could end up at Arsenal because of their decorated manager.
Arsene Wenger is one of the longest serving and most respected coaches around the world. The French boss, who has been in charge at Arsenal for more than 20 years, is known for developing a number of young footballers into global superstars over the years.
Nicolas Anelka, Thierry Henry, Cesc Fabregas, and Robin Van Persie are some of the outstanding names that went on to touch the stars after developing under Wenger. Similarly, Kylian Mbappe is hoping to follow the examples of the aforementioned players by being an apprentice of Arsene Wenger.
A close source to Mbappe recently told French daily Le Parisien (via GFFN): “Wenger, he is great. If Mbappe were to sign for Arsenal tomorrow, it would be for him. He knows how to shape young players, especially the former strikers of the French team, Thierry Henry and Nicolas Anelka. The Europa League is not an obstacle in itself.”
The source said: “Kylian is thinking. Either he goes through a stepping stone club, or directly to a great club. But his aim is very clear, to sign for one of the two biggest clubs in the world; they are Real Madrid or Barcelona for him, before reaching the age of 22.”
