Manchester United have been dealt another blow in their pursuit of Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata, as their latest €80m bid got rejected.
In the light of recent developments, the transfer saga involving Alvaro Morata is set to stretched even further.
Real Madrid have raised their asking price for the want-away striker once more to frustrate both Manchester United and Morata. Goal has reported that Los Blancos are now holding on for a massive €90m bid to be made by the Red Devils.
Jose Mourinho has recognized Morata, his former understudy, as his primary target for the ongoing transfer window. The Portuguese coach is looking at the Spaniard to fill the huge boots of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, whose contract expired in June, and the injured Swede wasn’t offered a renewal.
Also, Morata is said to be very eager to join his former Real Madrid boss at Old Trafford in his bid to play a major role in the squad.
Despite finding himself behind Benzema in the pecking order, Morata had an impressive season at Real Madrid, as he finished the campaign with 27 goals. However, the Spanish international was clearly disappointed with his limited playing time last season, due to which he has demanded an exit from the Bernabeu this summer.
Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho is said to be very angry with the slow progress in signing players he shortlisted at the start of transfer window. The Portuguese feels that club is behind schedule in securing the players that will strengthen the squad.
