Italian club Inter Milan continue to play hardball over Ivan Perisic with Manchester United, as they are refusing to decrease their evaluation. But it’s just not that, as latest reports suggest that they want Anthony Martial in return from the Premier League club.
The Serie A side warned on Friday that they have set the price for Perisic, and are in no pressure to accept any less than the valuation they have set. Suning chief Walter Sabatini stated in his press conference that Perisic would not be sold below the €55m mark, and wants the winger to stay at the club.
And now, according to Sky In Italy, Inter want French youngster Anthony Martial in return, to fill in the void Perisic will leave if he departs from the club.
The Croatian international is said to have his heart set on a move to United, but Inter are not willing to meet the offer on their table. The 28-year-old is valued highly by Jose Mourinho, but the prospect of losing Martial in return is something he will have to decide on very soon.
Martial has spent two seasons at Old Trafford, but he didn’t live up to the billing under Jose last term, with only eight goals to his name. The forward recently quashed all rumours of him leaving the side, though, as he is focused to do well and play a vital role for the club.
The former Monaco man has played mainly as a left winger for the Red Devils under Mourinho, and Inter value him highly. They see the Perisic-Martial exchange as a direct replacement for either players at their respective clubs.
