Juventus Star Dybala: I’ll Stay Here Forever

Paulo Dybala has closed all doors for potential suitors, as he reportedly wants to remain with the Old Lady ‘forever.’

La Joya has consistently been linked with almost all the top clubs in Europe, and Barcelona in particular. The Blaugrana see him as the most suitable replacement for the now decamped Neymar Jr. However, the Catalan giant’s interest in the Argentine predates Neymar’s £200m move to the French capital.

They have wanted to bring the 23-year-old to the Camp Nou ever since the transfer window opened this year. But unfortunately for them, they have to look for Neymar’s replacement elsewhere, after Dybala quashed any possibility of a move away from Turin not only for this summer, but for the rest of his career.

Dybala told Sport Mediaset: “I’m very happy at Juventus. I extended my contract three months ago, the club asked me to take their No.10 jersey, I thought about it for two days and said: Why not?”

What followed next was a statement of sheer intent from the Argentine. First, he made it very clear that a move to Barcelona is completely out of the cards, by stating: “Barcelona? I don’t think of teams that are not Juventus.”

And then came the big moment that must have been perhaps the most satisfying thing for all the Bianconeri faithful around the world, as the striker added: “I want to grow here. If the president wants me to, I’ll stay here forever.”

At just 23 years of age, Dybala has proved that he is as much of a magician off the field that he is on it. The Argentine’s words make a huge statement, which makes us look at a lot of things in the modern game differently.

First, clubs like Barcelona can’t always have their way, and second, in an era dictated by the power of money, there seems to exist a young boy from Argentina who knows what loyalty is. Perhaps, La Joya is already on his way to become a modern day Juve legend. Or maybe, he is already one.
