Liverpool midfielder Emre Can, who is believed to be heading to Juventus next year, is reportedly a target for Chelsea and Manchester United

Liverpool were struck a huge blow when Emre Can refused to sign an extension with the club, as the midfielder only has under 12 months remaining on his current contract. The German is expected to join Italian giants Juventus for free next summer.

However, as per Tuttosport (via Liverpool Echo)Liverpool’s Premier League rivals are preparing plans to hijack a deal by trying to convince Can to stay in England.

Manchester United and Chelsea both feel that they can benefit from the tireless German midfielder. Can has been an important part of the Liverpool side over the years, and the player seems to be peaking in his game, having recently scored two goals against Hoffenheim in the Champions League qualifier.

Liverpool fans, on the other hand, will be gutted to see their midfield general leave for free once his current contract expires. However, they will be find some respite in the fact that highly rated Naby Keita has already agreed to join the Reds next summer.

With Naby Keita coming in and Jordan Henderson being the captain, Emre Can feels that he might not be a starter for Liverpool next season.

It would be interesting to see, however, if Can entertains offers from arch-rivals Manchester United, or even Chelsea. If he decides to stay in the Premier League, Liverpool fans would rush to give him the name of ‘Judas’.
