Ivan Perisic has officially signed a 5-year contract extension with Inter Milan amid speculation over his future in Milan.
The versatile winger was already contracted with the Nerazzurri until 2020 but has already extended his stay till 2022 showing the club’s resolve to keep their star man.
The Croatian’s arrival at Old Trafford looked imminent at one point in the summer transfer window. However, the Red Devils had multiple bids rejected as they failed to meet Inter’s asking price of £49 million. In the end, both sides failed to reach an agreement leading to the break down of the negotiations.
Though their attempt at signing Perisic failed, Jose Mourinho was expected to make another offer in January as he is a huge admirer of the winger. But unfortunately, that no longer seems possible.
The Italian giants announced the news via Twitter not long ago and it was soon followed by an official statement by the player himself.

The 28-year-old told Inter’s official website: “It’s a special day for me, an emotional and happy one after the stress of the summer. Now we are all looking forward and I’m only thinking about Inter. For a long time I kept my counsel, and now I can say that Spalletti told me that I could be an even better version of myself here.
“We’ve done well in the first two matches of the season and we need to continue that way.”
