If reports in The Sun are to be believed, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is very determined to sign Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez next summer.

Since moving to Arsenal from Barcelona in the summer of 2014, Sanchez has established himself as one of the best forwards in the world. Despite the Gunners enduring a nightmare campaign last term, the Chilean has been truly sensational, having bagged 30 goals and 19 assists in 51 appearances in all competitions.

Arsenal’s failure to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in more than two decades really worried Sanchez, and the winger publicly revealed his desire to play for a club that features in Europe’s elite competition.

Manchester City were strongly linked with the former Barcelona star throughout the summer transfer window, and in fact, the forward looked set for a sensational £60m switch to the Citizens on transfer deadline day.

The move never materialised, but considering the fact that Sanchez is out of contract next year, it seemed that Manchester City will secure the signature of 28-year-old ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.

However, the latest report in The Sun claims that Manchester United now intend to hijack the Alexis Sanchez deal from the clutches of their local arch-rivals. Moreover, Jose Mourinho is believed to be personally confident of signing the wide-man, by offering him a £25 million signing on fee.

Sanchez will be unable to sign a pre-contract with Mourinho’s side until new year, but it is being claimed that an agreement can be reached for the deal to eventually go through.

Manchester United have been in pursuit of an attacking winger for several months, and there is no doubt that they would love to seal the signing of Sanchez, and witness the superstar make a similar impact at Old Trafford as Robin van Persie did back in the 2012-13 season.
