Luke Shaw’s future at Old Trafford has lately been the topic of major buzz, and now, it has come to light via The Telegraph‘s latest report that a number of Premier League clubs have been ‘keeping a watching brief’ on the 22-year-old’s situation.
Shaw, who has been isolated by manager Jose Mourinho, has been heavily mooted to make a move away from United in the winter transfer window. The Englishman has openly admitted his desire to play for former boss, Mauricio Pochettino, after having grown frustrated with his current role at Old Trafford.
The left-back, who himself is a Chelsea fan, is now on the radar of top Premier League sides, with Arsenal and Chelsea said to be keeping a very close eye on the former Southampton starlet. Manchester City too, are monitoring Shaw’s situation, with Everton and Tottenham Hotspur also amongst his admirers.
It was further claimed that the Red Devils have already triggered the one-year extension for the 22-year-old, which would keep him in the red half of Manchester until the end of 2019. The contract extension was primarily done in order to cash-in on Shaw when they receive an offer close to £29m, which United paid to sign him from Southampton back in 2014.
Since his move to the Theatre of Dreams, the England international has featured in just 32 Premier League matches for the Red Devils, courtesy of a number of injuries.
