According to The Sun, former Aston Villa midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger and ex-Leeds winger Robbie Rogers both were announced as gay posterior to leaving English football.
No player has ever confessed while still playing in the top flight. A number of campaigns to promote gender equality and support lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender players in football are purportedly ongoing.
Regardless, by appearing in just 28 games last term and scoring 9 goals in all competitions, including 5 Premier League goals, the Belgian striker, at the moment, has netted 5 goals in his first 7 appearances this year’s campaign, proving to be a reliable alternative to Alvaro Morata.
