Lyon successfully seized a victory against Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday evening, in a match featuring Memphis Depay’s remarkable strike.

The victory has made sure that Bruno Genesio’s side slid up to the second spot in Ligue 1, placing them just eight points behind the league leaders.

Depay was grappling to rise up to his expected form in the past few weeks, but has now triumphantly silenced the critics by netting in a splendid long-range attempt at goal in the injury time, marking the match-winning goal of the substantial fixture against the Parisians.

Watch Reactions:

Nabil Fekir caught the opposition goalkeeper, Alphonse Areola, off guard in the first half, and bestowed upon his side an early lead with a heavenly free-kick over 30 yards out. The Frenchman bent the ball with ease, skillfully placing it inside the net.

However, the PSG equalised in the late moments of the first half, as Layvin Kurzawa connected a gleaming cross from the right flanks by Dani Alves with a penetrating volley.

Unai Emery’s men got themselves down to 10 men in the latter half, when Dani Alves earned a red card by squaring up to the referee.

As the match edged towards its final moments, virtually everyone expected a draw. But when the clock hit 94′, Depay dazzled the supporters and the opposition fans equally with his wonder goal.

The Dutchman, who’s expected to have kick-started his classy form, has also conjured up numerous reactions on social media from the fans.

The triumph being extremely valuable for the Ligue 1 side, the club members have thoroughly enjoyed the victory along with the freakish goal.
