It looks like Man Utd fans will be relieved after the latest transfer scenario surrounding the club’s star-man David de Gea.
The Spanish international has been a constant target for Spanish and European champions Real Madrid, and reports recently continued to link the player with a move to the Bernabeu.
De Gea has one more year left on his current contract with United, whilst Real are speculated to be in search of a keeper despite having Keylor Navas as their no. 1 custodian.
United, meanwhile, are looking to get their pivotal player to sign a new contract, and according to The Times, De Gea is set to commit his future to the Old Trafford club.
De Gea is said to be happy at Old Trafford. And with the extension on the cards this season, it will see the shot-stopper parry off Real’s advancements.
The Spaniard demonstrated his incredible importance as he kept his team in this Champions League tie against Sevilla by producing a stunning reflex save to deny Luis Muriel’s on-goal header. The save is already being termed as the best of the season across Europe.
United manager Jose Mourinho stated last month that they intend to keep the player and offer him a deal that could fend off rivals.
Besides De Gea, the Los Blancos are also said to be interested in Chelsea stopper Thibaut Courtois.
