The Algerian international almost finalised a switch to the Etihad in the January transfer window after handing in a transfer request at the King Power outfit.
But Leicester City turned down a £50 million offer from the Sky Blues, only to set an inflated price tag of £80 million on their star forward’s head, which succeeded in ending Pep Guardiola’s pursuit of the player, at least for the winter window.
As per Daily Express, however, Mahrez is adamant on heading out the exit door come summer, but he seems more interested in moving to London.

While this gives Chelsea and Spurs a boost as well, Arsenal still seem to be the frontrunners in this pursuit, as the player himself deems the Emirates as his ideal destination, having already purchased a house in the English capital.
The former PFA Player of the Year recently opened up about his future in an interview with Sky Sports, wherein he revealed: “I am still contracted to Leicester and at the moment I am here so we will see.
“At that time (in January) I handed in a transfer request because I had offers from Manchester City, so obviously I wanted to go, but now I am still in Leicester.
“With me especially you never know what is happening. Every time I have to go but I am still here, so I don’t really want to talk about I’m going, I’m staying, you know.
“I just want to finish the next three games and we will see what will happen to me. It [the transfer request] is gone. It was in January. Now it is another transfer window. I am still here and I don’t want to put a lot of things in my head. I am very cool and relaxed about it.”
