Manchester United talents Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford have one of the best partnerships on and off the pitch.
Rashford didn’t have the best season with the Red Devils. The forward spent most of his time on the bench, making 27 out of 50 appearances as a sub. Luckily, it didn’t affect his World Cup call-up, as Gareth Southgate believes in the youngster.
The youngster was amazing against Costa Rica, as England won 2-0 in their last match before the World Cup. His performances have created a good problem for Southgate, and the forward may have even earned a start for England’s opener against Tunisia.
The 20-year-old has already made 19 appearances for the Three Lions, scoring three goals. During this period, he has brushed shoulders with some of the best footballers in the world.
Most notably, before a game between England and Brazil at Wembley in November, Rashford and Neymar were seen having a deep conversation.
Reports revealed that the duo had a boring chit-chat about the London chill. Here is how the conversation went down:
Neymar: “[Are you] good?”
Rashford: “How long have you been here? How long [before] you’re leaving?”
Rashford: “You go?”
Rashford: “It’s cold!”
Neymar: “Today is…”
Rashford: “It’s not so bad today. Usually, it’s…”
Neymar: “I don’t like the cold.”
Rashford [laughs]: “It’s not for you, eh?”
Neymar [laughs]: “No, it’s so cold!”
Ahead of the World Cup, Rashford and Lingard took part in the Roommates Challenge, as they answered questions about each other.
Lingard was asked ‘What did Marcus and Neymar talk about in the tunnel at Wembley?’ The three options in front of him were ‘The Weather’, ‘London Nightlife’, and ‘Nike Boots’.
The attacking midfielder clearly ignored the first option, as he thought that Rashford and Neymar weren’t that boring. Lingard also knew that they wouldn’t talk about the London nightlife, as Rashford wasn’t too familiar with it.
And since both Neymar and Rashford are contracted with Nike, Lingard was certain that the boots were the topic of the conversation. Naturally, he was in for a shock. Have a look at his reaction:
