Real Madrid have joined the race to sign Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, as per Football Italia.

The report states that the 3-time defending European champions are prepared to bid as much as a whopping 170 million euros for the in-demand player.

Milinkovic-Savic is coming off a hugely successful campaign at the personal level. In 48 appearances for the Biancocelesti, he bagged 14 goals and 6 assists this season.

He does, however, have a hot head, and needs to be more selective with his tackling – as demonstrated by the 12 yellow cards he has to his name over the course of the campaign.

That is, however, perhaps the only blemish on a scouting report that has encouraging signs for all suitors. The Serb has as diverse a skillset as any midfielder in world football.

The 23-year-old isn’t afraid to mix it up and play physically, but he primarily plays the role of a playmaker. He will definitely do better than his 79.9% pass completion rate alongside better players in a new club.

Manchester United and Juventus have already been linked with a move for him. But given the intensity of Real Madrid‘s reported interest, coupled with the fact that they haven’t pursued a star in the past two summers, they appear to be strong contenders at present.
