PSV winger Hirving Lozano has made full use of the scouting opportunity that the World Cup presents to players from lesser-known countries and leagues.

The Mexican forward struck the winning goal against Germany on Sunday. The result sent shock shockwaves across the world both literally and figuratively; Mexico City experienced tremors that arose due to the ensuing wild celebrations.

According to Marca, Lozano was already a transfer target for Juventus and Manchester United before the game. Their interest will only have perked up with his encouraging performance versus the reigning world champions.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Mexican national team coach Osorio heaped praise on his ward. The gaffer was quoted as saying: “I think Hirving, since he moved to PSV Eindhoven, I think he has made the next step up.

“He’s an unbelievable prospect. His pace, his ability to take people on makes me believe that he is a player that will go very far, hopefully he can show that in the next game. I just think that whoever takes a chance on him will do well. His pace and again his ability to take people on, he can play in any league and any place.

How Mexico’s Goal Caused An Earthquake

“I think he will be able to – and he has the tools to play – in the Premier League.”

Lozano’s debut season in the Eredivisie panned out yielding him an excellent return of 17 league goals. His success drew in super-agent Mino Raiola, who is the representative for some of world football’s biggest names.

After just a few months in the Netherlands, Raiola was hired as the Mexican’s new agent. It is instantly apparent that the Dutchman’s penchant for facilitating his clients for transfers to bigger clubs was one of his major selling points.

It is rumoured that the Dutch giants wish to retain his services for an additional year, but it remains to be seen where Lozano ends up playing his club football next season.
