Real Madrid are eyeing a swap deal involving Gareth Bale and Romelu Lukaku this summer.

Los Blancos have been in the news lately due to a lot of transfer activity, especially related to Cristiano Ronaldo, who appears set to leave the Bernabeu after spending nine seasons at the club.

With the Portuguese’s departure, Karim Benzema is their only option to lead the attacking line, but the Frenchman has been out of form for the past couple of seasons.

To fix this dilemma, reports in Spain are now claiming that Real Madrid are eyeing a move for Manchester United‘s Romelu Lukaku this summer. The 13-time Champions League winners believe the Belgian striker is the one to fill Ronaldo’s boots in Madrid next season.

The report adds that Florentino Perez is planning to use Gareth Bale in the deal to entice Manchester United. The Real Madrid president is ready to make a straight swap between the players this summer, and utilise the interest the Red Devils have shown in the Welsh International for the past few summers.

Lukaku joined United last summer, and he was their top scorer with 27 goals across all competitions.

In Russia, he is also a part of the race for the Golden Boot with 4 goals to his name, with Belgium set to face World Cup favorites France in the semi-finals on Tuesday.

It is hard to believe that Mourinho will accept such a swap deal involving one of his best players. Moreover, United are currently pursuing backup options for Lukaku, which clearly indicates he won’t be offloaded.

Real are also said to be eyeing moves for PSG duo Neymar and Kylian Mbappe this summer. Another player on their radar is Chelsea‘s Eden Hazard, who has been tipped to replace Cristiano Ronaldo on the wing.
