United have six points from four matches. Alexis Sanchez set up the first goal for the Belgian, before the latter added another from a failed Burnley clearance.
Here’s how the United players fared in this crunch tie against the Clarets –
David de Gea: 7
Was a spectator in the first half, before making two classy saves in the closing stages.
Antonio Valencia: 6
The skipper looked to be promising going forward and kept his shape defensively.
Chris Smalling: 7
Looked steady and composed on the ball and it was a much better show than the one against Spurs.
Victor Lindelof: 6
Did an able job in marking Burnley striker Chris Wood. The Swede had a calmer presence.
Luke Shaw: 7
Was terrific once again and caused all sorts of problems for Burnley. His pace and motivation to get inside the box helped United get the second goal.
Marouane Fellaini: 8
Was solid and added the extra bit of cushion for the defenders. His positioning and being a threat against crosses helped the side.
Nemanja Matic: 6
Used the ball well at times but also lost possession. Grew stronger as the game progressed.
Paul Pogba: 5
Was allowed to meander forward with Matic and Fellaini behind him. It was a decent show by the Frenchman, before he missed a penalty.
Jesse Lingard: 7
Created issues for Burnley with his swift movement. Almost opened the scoring for United, before playing a big part in the second goal.
Alexis Sanchez: 7
Made a delightful assist for Lukaku to get United the opener. Showed burst of pace in the first-half, especially on the counter.
Romelu Lukaku: 8
Scored both the goals and was there in the right place at the right time. Wasted a glorious chance in the second half.
Marcus Rashford: 3
Brought pace and directness and also earned a penalty. But a rash reaction to Phil Bardsley’s tackle saw him get sent off.
Ander Herrera: 5
Brought in to calm the ship after the game boiled up.
Eric Bailly – N/A
Came on in the 93rd minute.
