After the international break took its toll on the Premier League clubs, fresh action awaits on Saturday. The Red Devils take on Watford, an away fixture that Jose Mourinho will be desperate to taste victory at, as their standing is far from assuring so far.
Let us have a look at how both sides are likely to lineup during the fixture:
Despite having had a fruitful international spell with England, Marcus Rashford will not feature against Watford, as the youngster will serve the first of his three-match ban for the red card he received against Burnley.
In terms of injury, the knock that Luke Shaw picked up is still in a bit of a doubt, although the revitalized left-back may just sneak in an appearance.
Phil Jones is the biggest doubt for the game, while Marouane Fellaini’s back problems may keep him doubtful for an otherwise interesting away game.
Sanchez, Lukaku, and Lingard may be the best bet for Mourinho’s frontline, while Pogba, Fred, and Matic will have to experiment in midfield and cause Watford trouble. The absence of Rashford may also assure Martial a role one way or another.
GK: De Gea
Defenders: Valencia, Lindelof, Smalling, Young
Midfielders: Fred, Pogba, Matic
Forwards: Lingard, Lukaku, Sanchez
Javi Garcia’s lads have a mixed home game to defend. Seated in the promising 3rd place after four wins in four games, Watford will hope to keep their run going strong.
Penaranda, Deulofeu, and Kaboul all are being monitored for fitness, while Britos and Tom Cleverley are assured absentees.
The formation that worked brilliantly against Spurs is likely to make a showing again, but Manchester United won’t be easy opponents either.
Defenders: Janmaat, Cathcart, Kabasele, Holebas
Midfielders: Capoue, Doucoure, Chalobah, Pereyra
Forwards: Deeney, Hughes
