Paul Pogba’s future at Manchester United looks increasingly in doubt. Despite overbearing reports suggesting that the Frenchman will depart the Red Devils soon, the underlying claim that the higher-ups at Old Trafford value the midfielder immensely seems to further the confusion.
Pogba hasn’t been given the start by Jose Mourinho in their last two Premier League fixtures and despite starting against Valencia, little could be achieved by him to change the eventual 2-1 scoreline where United lost.
Combined with allegations of bad rapport with Mourinho and a lingering interest to depart, it is no surprise that numerous giants are eager to swoop in.
However, in this regard, one team could truly have an asset that could tempt United to sell.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Alex Sandro could be used as a vital pawn to facilitate Pogba’s return to Juventus in what is being reported as a player-plus-cash exchange.
The 27-year-old Brazilian, whom United were keen on signing in past windows, is one of the players that the Serie A giants are allegedly eager to offload, with the intent strong on squaring their bill and appeasing FFP rules, a feat that has been made tricky with the expensive signing of Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer.
As of such, handing over Sandro could very much sweeten the deal and would be an ideal scenario for both sides.
At the same time, the resurgence of Luke Shaw as a fullback could very well question how valuable of a player Sandro could be to the present United side.
Shaw’s affinity for getting injured is certainly a point of contention, but whether that would necessitate losing the likes of Pogba is certainly a question.
To add to that dilemma is the over-arching question of whether Mourinho himself will remain the club’s manager for the long-term, as him staying or departing could have a massive impact on the Pogba situation.
