Marcus Rashford may still be in disbelief as to what just occurred in last night’s Champions League encounter. Manchester United traveled to PSG and won 3-1, solidifying their aggregate to 3-3 with the away goal rule favoring them.

Romelu Lukaku’s brace was the chief factor in bringing about this comeback, but the undoubted impact was made by Marcus Rashford calmly slotting in the decisive penalty in added time past a goalkeeper of Buffon’s experience.

The penalty itself was quite controversial, as the referee had awarded it after consulting with the VAR and no player had initially contested the handball.

After the game, both Lukaku and Rashford were interviewed, but a particular intervention made the session even more epic.

As the duo was being interviewed, Paul Pogba rushed onto the scene and continued the celebrations that were running rampant from the pitch itself.

The passion in the trio was quite evident, a stellar mixture of disbelief at what had occurred as well as a clear-cut indication that the club is still capable of great things.

Pogba’s absence, by virtue of his red-card in the first-leg, was worsened further by the fact that up to 10 senior team players weren’t able to play a part in the game due to one injury or the other, seriously hampering the club’s chances going into the fixture.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was poignant in the words he used to describe Rashford’s penalty, stating:

“There were no nerves, he’s fearless. Him and Lukaku were fantastic all night. This club, this is what we do. That’s Man United. The referee had a big call to make and he made himself bigger so it’s a clear penalty apparently.”

Manchester United have done it again and the dressing room may already be dreaming about greatness yet again, this time with a solid intent.
