Ed Woodward will not be joining the Manchester United squad on their pre-season tour.

The Red Devils are currently in Australia for their pre-season tour, and have already played their opening game against Perth Glory last Sunday.

Next, they are set to face off against rivals Leeds on July 17, before traveling to Singapore for matches against Inter, Tottenham, and AC Milan.

However, the team will not be joined by the club’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, who has stayed back in the UK.

According to the Evening Standard, Woodward will not be joining the Manchester United squad on their travels, as he looks to wrap up the transfer business for the summer.

Having already completed the signings of Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, he has now turned his attention onto recruiting the next targets.

The report states that Leicester City centre-back Harry Maguire and Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff are the next targets on Woodward’s list, and he has stayed back in the UK to finalise these negotiations.

Meanwhile, sources from the English media have been hinting that the Red Devils have made progress in their pursuit of Maguire, and an agreement appears to be on the horizon.

No concrete updates have emerged on the Longstaff front, but a central midfielder’s arrival at Old Trafford seems imminent this summer nonetheless.
