Fans were particularly overjoyed at the manner in which Wan-Bissaka functioned during the fixture, maintaining his brilliant start to life under United. One instance from the game, in particular, is going viral on social media. It shows the wing-back fall prey to a quick counter-attack from Inter. However, he succeeded in chasing the player down and the sheer perfection of his sliding tackle to contain the threat has left fans dreaming big.

United are yet to concede a goal in their pre-season tour and such promising antics from a vital portion of their backline will mean that much progress has been done in securing their defense, a feat they failed at miserably last campaign.

However, it is still evident that the club requires an apt centre-back capable of carrying the ball into the midfield.

Brilliant as Wan-Bissaka is, he is most effective at the flank and even if deployed as the third centre-back in a back three, he will require the support of an experienced leader in order to be fully effective.
