The ongoing transfer saga seems to have caught Paulo Dybala by surprise just as much as most of the fans who are now eager for his arrival at Manchester United.
The entire affair does reek of suspicion as a player of the stature of Dybala would have been pursued by a club like Manchester United all summer long and not just in the final week of the transfer window.
While the Romelu Lukaku to Juventus saga opening the link for the deal does pose a compelling argument, there still appears to be more to the whole thing than meets the eye.
Now, according to Il Bianconero, the Argentine forward has told his friends that he feels absolutely ‘betrayed’ by the manner in which Juventus have treated him during this saga. The 25-year-old expected to be a big part of Maurizio Sarri’s rebuild at Turin.
In particular, the fact that the gaffer mentioned him in his inaugural press-conference and stated the possibility of building the team around him kept Dybala in high hopes.
In fact, the report states that he was even nurturing the ambition of becoming the club’s captain in the hunt for the ever-elusive Champions League glory.
However, now the allegation that he is surplus to requirements at the Old lady seems to have hurt him badly.
Most reports indicated that he was slated for big talks with Maurizio Sarri on Thursday regarding his future. The outcome of those talks is yet to be known.
Further, the report adds that this betrayal has made him strongly consider a move away from Juventus this summer. However, he is still unsure about Manchester United being the right destination for him and the Premier League being the apt league.
This claim more than anything else makes it seem likely that the Romelu Lukaku deal and anything involving Dybala will be treated as two separate transfers.
