Manchester United’s disappointing run of managers post-Sir Alex Ferguson is looking increasingly likely to see the end of yet another name.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was initially touted to be the perfect replacement of the man under whom he flourished as a player. Initially, the attacking ethos he instilled into the club did indicate that perhaps a renaissance was in motion.
Fast forward several months and the situation couldn’t have been worse off. United are presently placed two points above the relegation zone and are looking at further woe after the international break.
Now, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could be on his way out if the following occurs.
As per the Sun, Manchester United will sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer if they lose to Norwich City at the end of October.
It appears that almost everyone expects the Norwegian gaffer to lead his team to defeat when they host Liverpool following the international break. The Merseyside club are currently at the top of the table and are yet to taste defeat this season.
Jurgen Klopp’s side already boast the sacking of one United gaffer when they cost Jose Mourinho his job following the past December loss of the Red Devils to the European champions.
However, the report claims that a loss to the Canaries on October 27 will be the last straw for the higher-ups at Old Trafford, who will promptly sack Solskjaer despite publicly backing him in the past.
Then again, those claims came with a view that United would be mediocre but would nevertheless fight for a top-four finish. This relegation-threatened team wasn’t one that anyone could have foreseen.
On the bright side, the squad is projected to have some of its top performers back in action from injury following the international break and that will certainly sweeten up their possibility of grabbing a point or three away at Carrow Road.
