As Gareth Bale’s future at Real Madrid continues to be discussed and speculated, it is believed that amongst a host of clubs, Manchester United are the ones leading the race to sign the Welshman.

The former Tottenham Hotspur player is said to be set to meet Real’s new coach Julen Lopetegui this week in order to know about his future at the club, and the role he will be getting entrusted with.

If the four-time Champions League winner decides to leave the Bernabeu, then reports claim that the Mancunian club could end up being his likeliest destination.

However, according to a report in Spanish outlet Diario Gol, Bale will only move to Manchester if Jose Mourinho gets the club to pay him a huge salary.

The Old Trafford unit possesses some of the highest paid footballers, viz. the likes of Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, and Alexis Sanchez. Besides United, several other top European clubs are all supposedly monitoring his situation.

Meanwhile, as per reports, Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett has tried to play down claims that his client’s next move will be money-motivated.

Barnett said that for a player like Bale, who is one of the best in the world, money isn’t the motivating factor, and also added that the speedster wants Real to guarantee him regular football.

If Bale does come to United, then one can see him getting straightway drafted into the starting lineup, and a front three of Bale, Lukaku, and Sanchez could excite fans all around.
