Jose Mourinho is facing possibly the most desperate time of his managerial career, and apart from player criticism, dressing room shenanigans, and media bust-ups, he is still looking for more ways to keep himself as far away from the sack as possible.

The Portuguese is having a torrid time at Old Trafford, and while many believe only a managerial change could turn things around, he believes that new players under his belt could bring back the glory days for both himself and the club.

Recent reports that took the internet by storm suggested that Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be an immediate answer to some problems, as the Swede was ready to make a sensational return to Manchester.

However, Mourinho has not taken long to dismiss the possibility of that happening. When the Manchester United boss was asked whether he would have Zlatan back at the Theatre of Dreams, he simply said “No”.

On the other hand, the player has also made remarks that distances himself from a return to the Premier League club.

“I think I’m in a situation where I need to have a good balance between work and rest,” is what Ibrahimovic told Sky Sports last week.

The experienced forward further went on to add: “Any more on that I don’t know what to say because I haven’t focused on that, I haven’t put any thought on it.”

There is no denying the fact that Manchester United need a man who can bang in goals and win them games – a feat Romelu Lukaku is far from achieving a the moment. But, is an almost retiring Swede the ideal person for the same?
