Player Ratings: Manchester United 0-0 Crystal Palace
It was another lacklustre show from Manchester United at Old Trafford, as their poor form in the Premier League continued.
The Red Devils were held to a 0-0 draw by Crystal Palace, as they offered little going forward, and lacked the potency in attack. They were lucky not to lose the match against Roy Hodgson’s side, who had the better chances.
Here are the player ratings from the game at Old Trafford:
David de Gea: 7
Had very little to do in the first half, before making a double save in the second.
Matteo Darmian: 6
Had a chance in the first half, but missed the same. Put in a decent show in the second half and almost assisted a goal.
Chris Smalling: 5
Missed a sitter from an open chance. Did his job defensively.
Victor Lindelof: 6
A fine display across both halves. Passing was neat.
Ashley Young: 4
Almost got United the lead with a fierce shot. Offered width, but his crossing was below par throughout, as he hardly completed a successful one.
Nemanja Matic: 5
Not at his best yet again, and looked pretty slow at times.
Paul Pogba: 2
Was a disappointing showing from a player expected to dictate the show. Lost the ball on numerous occasions.
Jesse Lingard: 4
Looked promising early in the game, but from there on, he faded. Missed a glorious opportunity to score.
Juan Mata: 5
Didn’t effect the game as he would have liked. Looked tedious at times.
Anthony Martial: 3
A poor game from the in-form player. Should have scored with his header. Didn’t have the sharpness.
Romelu Lukaku: 6
His goalless run continued, but the Belgian offered other things to please the manager.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
Marcus Rashford: 7
Showed the desire after making two crucial tackles that led to a counter-attack. Had the pace and energy.
Marouane Fellaini: 6
Brought some stability into the midfield that Pogba lacked.
Alexis Sanchez: 4
Had a beautiful moment to choose the right pass on the counter created by Rashford’s tackles, but he failed to do so from a promising situation.
