Manchester United Place Second Bid For Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Henrikh Mkhitaryan desperately wants to join Manchester United, and will do so “by any means.”

Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s agent Mino Raiola labeled the transfer to Manchester United as the Armenian’s “Dream move.”

Raiola recently stated that his client’s chance to join Manchester United may only come “once in a lifetime for a player.” It seems as though the only factor hindering Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s move to United is a transfer fee that is to be agreed by both sides.

Mkhitaryan’s valuation by Dortmund at the moment is believed to be £31 million, and it’s been confirmed that Manchester United have made a £28 million bid (add-ons included).

It was also confirmed that United had initially bid £19 million for the midfielder’s services, but Dortmund rejected the offer – knowing that Henrikh is worth much more.

United’s new manager, Jose Mourinho, has set his eyes on the attacking midfielder and is looking for him to beef up the current United midfield – as well as provide more options for him, and competition between players.

Jose Mourinho will be aching to get his United career going, as he seeks to restore the club’s former glory. Manchester United have been seriously underperforming for the past three year, and their form has gone downhill ever since the departure of legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Eric Bailly became the first player to get signed under the Mourinho era, and Ed Woodward now has his eyes firmly set on Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Mkhitaryan scored a total of 23 goals last season, from 32 games. He later denied the option to extend his contract with the German club and only has a single year left on his current contract.

Borussia Dortmund have already suffered major losses in their squad, in the form of the departure of Mat Hummels and Ilkay Gundogan to Bayern Munich and Manchester City respectively. But, United’s offer may prove to be too good to reject, and we may see the Armenian join the Red Devils this summer.
