Fabinho Speaks Out About Leaving Monaco
Fabinho was heavily linked with Manchester United over the summer, but the 22-year-old has now insisted that he doesn’t plan to leave Monaco any time soon.
Fabinho, who turns 23 next week, was presented with the opportunity to join Manchester United this summer, as Jose Mourinho began his search for a full-back to replace Matteo Darmian.
However, the Brazilian refused the transfer and instead committed himself to Monaco by signing a new 5 year contract, although the rumours still kept trickling in after the completion of the new deal.

Manchester United weren’t the only club interested in Fabinho over the summer. Napoli and Manchester City were also believed to have been interested in the full-back.
Fabinho spoke to L’Equipe about moving to a ‘big club’ next summer, and confirmed that a move is not on his mind at the moment.
“I could have already done it, but I’m under contract here,” he said. “I feel good here. I’m an important player in one of the best teams in the league.”

Earlier reports claimed that Monaco had placed a €40 million price tag on Fabinho in order to keep other clubs away. However, Jose Mourinho has continued to express interest nonetheless.
But after the player’s recent comments, it seems that all interested parties should begin putting their cheque books down.
Fabinho’s versatility and incredible pace are precisely why so many clubs are interested in him. He can play as a full-back as well as a midfielder, similar to the way in which United’s Daley Blind plays.
Fabinho joined Monaco back in 2013 from Rio Ave. Initially, he was signed on a loan deal, but his move was made permanent last year.
During his time in France, he has made over 170 first-team appearances. This season, he has already scored 4 goals in 8 league appearances, helping his team climb to second in the league table, level alongside Paris Saint-Germain, and behind leaders Nice.
