Harry Kane Signs New Contract With Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur have announced that Harry Kane has signed a new contract with the club, which will keep the star striker at the club till 2022.
Kane signed a long term contract with Tottenham worth £125,000-a-week, which commits him with the club until 2022.
“We are delighted to announce that Harry Kane has signed a new contract with the club, which will run until 2022,” read a statement on Tottenham’s website.
Harry Kane, 23, finished last season as the Premier League top scorer for Spurs, and it is understood that he has been having negotiations with the London Club since last month over a deal. This new deal will be replacing the previous 5-year contract which he signed in February 2015.
“Everyone knows what I feel for this club,” said Kane. “To sign another contract is a special feeling. We have got a great young squad and the club is moving in the right direction.”
Kane joined Tottenham in 2004 as a youth team player, but had a problematic spell with the club due to consistent injuries. But the 2014-15 season was a breakthrough campaign for the Englishman, wherein he ended up scoring 31 goals for Spurs in all competitions.
In September, several of his teammates, viz Christian Eriksen, club captain Hugo Lloris, and Belgium midfielder Mousa Dembélé signed new long term contracts with Tottenham Hotspur.
Harry Kane has scored 6 goals in 10 appearances this season, despite missing 10 games with an ankle injury.
