Paris Saint-Germain have already begun preparations to replace Edinson Cavani if he decides to leave the French capital next summer.

As per the Express, Manchester United are all set to make an offer for Cavani next summer, so as to sign the Uruguay international up as a long term successor for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Amid these rumours, new reports have now emerged from France, suggesting that if the 29-year-old does follow Zlatan to Manchester, PSG already have his replacement lined up, in the form of Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku has been linked with a big money move away from Everton for quite a while now. In fact, the young striker even held talks with the likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester United in the past, but no move materialized.

However, it looks like Lukaku could finally make a major move next summer, provided Cavani leaves Paris for the Premier League.

The Belgian was recently asked about the interest of several European powerhouses in securing his services, to which he replied: “A lot of people come to the stadium to watch me.

“Mino (Raiola, his agent) never tells me anything. As long as there is nothing black and white and on paper, he will not bother me with it and I respect that. That is his way of working. I know they (interested clubs) are there though.”

And speaking of clubs interested in Lukaku, Arsene Wenger talked about his interest in the 23-year-old ahead of Arsenal‘s midweek Premier League clash against Everton, and further revealed how the Gunners were beaten by arch rivals Chelsea for his signature.

“I knew him when he was in Belgium at Anderlecht,” Wenger revealed in the pre-match press conference. “He came very early to Chelsea, and once a player is at a big club, for us, it is difficult to get him.”
