Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in a move for Manchester United outcast Memphis Depay.

Memphis looks free to leave Manchester United this January after being treated surplus to Jose Mourinho’s requirements. And now, The Sun have claimed PSG are interested in showing the winger an escape route from his miseries, to the French capital.

The Dutch youngster has struggled at Old Trafford since he arrived from PSV Eindhoven for £25 million in back June 2015. He was unable to replicate that stunning form in a United shirt, and has subsequently fallen some way down the pecking order at Old Trafford. Depay has made only nine appearances this season, with just four of those coming in the Premier League.

Memphis was tipped as one of the most exciting young talents in the Eredivisie during the 2014/15 season, firing PSV Eindhoven to the title with 22 league goals. The huge money Man United spent to secure his services was certainly a testament to how impressive he was in his home country.

Apart from PSG, Everton have been heavily linked with a January move for the Dutchman as well, and Lyon are reported to have had a £13 million bid rejected for the 22-year-old.

Jose Mourinho has already confirmed United had turned down a bid for Memphis, as United are reluctant to allow him to leave for any less than £15m.

Mourinho said: “The latest is that the offer that we’ve had is far from being reasonable for us. At the moment, he’s our player and if in the end [of the window] nothing happens, he is one more option for us.”
