According to reports in The Mirror, Jose Mourinho is ready to go back to Chelsea, but this time to lure away Nemanja Matic and take him to Manchester United in a surprising transfer deal.

Mourinho has lately been involved in a lot of rumours for players that Chelsea have been already interested in, and the fact that he is now going for one of their own itself will sicken the Blues more than before.

United have recently sold off Morgan Schneiderlin to Everton, and with Carrick ageing and running out of a contract this summer, a midfield replacement is Mourinho’s topmost priority.

The Serb has been a brilliant player for Chelsea so far in both offensive and defensive positions in midfield, and that’s exactly what Manchester United are looking out for.

Mourinho has a list of top targets prepared for Ed Woodward in the summer, and Antoine Griezmann is the number one player on it. However, with Costa’s recent exit rumours emerging strongly, it is believed Chelsea too, might be in the race for the Atletico striker if their own star forward leaves the club.

United are almost inevitably ready to sign Victor Lindelof this summer, and Matic comes about as an ideal partner for Herrera in midfield according to Mourinho, several reports suggest.

Jose is most certainly a manager with Manchester United, but his links with Chelsea do not seem to be getting over, and the Matic saga might be a very interesting one to look out for in the near future.
