Man United And Griezmann Reach Verbal Agreement Over Summer Transfer

Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann has verbally agreed a deal with Manchester United, according to Miguel Delaney of the Independent .

Griezmann has been linked with a big money move to the Theatre of Dreams for quite some time now, with some rumours even claiming that the Frenchman – who is believed to be a Manchester United fan himself – is extremely keen on playing for the Old Trafford club, and alongside his international teammate and good friend Paul Pogba.

And things finally appear to be moving forward in a positive direction for the Red Devils, as the latest emerging reports have revealed that the Euro 2016 top scorer has verbally agreed a deal with the English giants.

Griezmann’s representatives apparently met with Manchester United officials recently, and reached an initial agreement over a summer transfer. Furthermore, the two parties also seem to have discussed the forward’s weekly wages and his prospective shirt number.

This comes as great news for United fans, who received a scare earlier this week, thanks to rumours suggesting that the current Premier League table toppers Chelsea have also entered the race for the 25-year-old’s signature, so as to replace Diego Costa, who seems to have fallen out with manager Antonio Conte.

But with every major news outlet now reporting this verbal agreement, the Old Trafford faithful can finally be at peace, and seriously begin to believe that Jose Mourinho will most probably be bringing in Griezmann come summer.

Atletico Madrid currently value their talisman at around €100m, but the mammoth figure wouldn’t bother Manchester United too much given their financial resources. And if this report does turn out to be true, the world of football will definitely witness the transfer record get shattered yet again in 2017.
