Liverpool Linked With Gotze, Again

Liverpool’s links with Borussia Dortmund, and especially Mario Gotze, seem to be never ending. Even after making a switch back to Dortmund from Munich last summer, Gotze to Liverpool is still deemed a possibility, according to The Mirror.

The German forward was repeatedly rumoured to be joining former manager Jurgen Klopp at Anfield last summer. But the 24 year old broke Merseysiders hearts by returning to Dortmund under Thomas Tuchel. He has failed to reach the same levels he did under Klopp though, and hasn’t been a regular starter for the Bundesliga giants.

Klopp is reportedly interested in the 2014 World Cup final scorer, even after he snubbed Liverpool due to a lack of Champions League football. Talks about an end of season switch have reportedly taken place.

Liverpool have been linked with numerous Dortmund players over the last few seasons. Gotze has figured prominently among them, along with Marco Reus, former defender Mats Hummels, and wonder-kid Christian Pulisic.

All of these links have spectacularly failed though, and it is still doubtful is they can offer Dortmund a major recoup of the 20million they paid for Gotze.
