Inter Set To Beat United And Chelsea To Sign Reputed Serie A Defender
Inter Milan scouts are reported to be watching Lazio defender Stefan de Vrij in action for the Netherlands during the international break to keep an eye on his current performance.
The Dutchman has so far knocked back Lazio’s any kind of attempt to persuade him to sign on a new deal and is expected to leave the Italian giants at the end of the season.
However, Manchester United and Chelsea are also linked with the Netherlands international but as per current scenario, Inter are the ones who are thought to be leading the chase after reportedly securing a verbal agreement with the player’s representatives.
As reported by The Express last month, United were heavily linked with a £30m move for the Dutch international while Chelsea were also interested as both Premier League giants look to strengthen their respective defenses ahead of next season.

And now it seems Inter will not take their eyes off their potential target even during the international break and have planned to send scouts to watch the player in action for the Netherlands.
According to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter scouts were present at the Vasil Levski National Stadium in Sofia on Saturday night to watch De Vrij, as his national team faced Bulgaria in a World Cup qualifier. They will again have a look at his performance when Netherlands take on Italy in an international friendly next week in Amsterdam.
The Nerazzurri are desperate to include a central defender to their ranks in the summer and de Vrij is one of the names who has always been on top of their wishlist ahead of the summer transfer window. The highly rated Dutchman’s contract with Lazio expires next year.
