Adnan Januzaj To Be Shipped Off To Turkey

Manchester United’s loaned out winger Adnan Januzaj is set to leave the club at the end of the season, and if the reports from Turkish news outlet Takvim are to be believed, Fenerbahce might well be his next destination.

Januzaj, who has failed to impress Jose Mourinho with his tedious performances this season, has only 12 months left on his current Manchester United contract, and United, on their part, are ready to let him go for an axed price, and quite rightly so. The reason being; Jose Mourinho’s demand of extensive work rate.

The Portuguese tactician wants his player to join the defensive end of the pitch whenever necessary, and Januzaj certainly isn’t the one known for his defensive awareness. He might get you some goals, but his presence on the field might open up a void in Mourinho’s blueprint.

Besides that, Jose Mourinho has many options in Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Anthony Martial, Juan Mata and Andreas Pereira, another loaned out youngster, at his disposal, which is why recalling Januzaj will not help anyone’s cause.

The talented Belgian came into province during David Moyes’ United tenure, and was hailed as the next big thing by many footballing experts. However, with the Scot’s sacking and Louis van Gaal bringing in his philosophy, Januzaj lost his place in the team.

Mourinho’s arrival did bring a ray of hope, but Januzaj saw himself shipped out on loan at Sunderland. In 22 league appearances so far, however, he has failed to score a goal, and has only bagged a handful of assists.

With all this said and done, the Turkish publication has suggested that the 22-year-old will travel to Turkey to finalise the negotiation, and should the Super Lig club fail to agree to a permanent transfer, a loan deal could be on the cards.
