Blow for Manchester United, as Italian giants Inter Milan are now ready to meet the valuation of their top transfer target Victor Lindelof this summer.

The Red Devils have a crisis at the back, with Mourinho unable to trust most of his first team defenders. He has been looking at some of the biggest names in world football to add to his squad at the end of the season, and Swedish star Victor Lindelof is one of many such names.

The 22-year old was linked with a move to Old Trafford in January, but Mourinho was not willing to meet his asking price at that time. However, reports suggest that United will revisit the Swedish star in the summer, and will make a better offer.

Considered as one of the best defenders in Europe at the moment, Lindelof will cost around €60m, as he only signed a new contract a couple of months ago. The new deal will keep Lindelof at Benfica till 2021, but it is understood that Manchester United are not the only club interested in breaking the bank for his signature.

According to Portuguese site A Bola via Football Italia, Italian giants Inter Milan have now joined the race for the services of the 22-year old.

It was revealed that Inter are prepared to offer Benfica €60m in the course of five years, but the Portuguese outfit wants the money in just three years.

Old Trafford is a possible destination for the youngster as long as Manchester United meet the defender’s valuation, but Mourinho is supposedly not happy to spend more than €45m on the player this summer.
