Alexis Sanchez Will Want To Impress Manchester United This Weekend, Says Pundit
Alexis Sanchez could be set out to prove a point in the game against Manchester United, as he will want to impress Jose Mourinho ahead of the summer transfer window, claims football pundit Charlie Nicholas.
The Gunners now face a tough task of qualifying for next season’s Champions League, as the loss to Tottenham Hotspur not so long ago seriously dented their chances, and anything less than three points against Manchester United this Sunday could dash their hopes entirely.
But one Alexis Sanchez will hope to be at his best, to try and impress Manchester United and its hierarchy, who might make a move for him this summer.
The Chilean winger has been in impeccable form for Arsenal this season, and has been their best player by a distance. However, the lack of the overall team’s progress at the Emirates in the last couple of years has seen him delay his contract extension ahead of the summer.

Sanchez has just over a year left on his current contract, and Arsene Wenger is reportedly happy to keep him at the club till his contract runs down. But Manchester United are one of the many clubs who might look to lure him away from London at the end of the season.
And according to Arsenal player-turned-pundit Charlie Nicholas, Sanchez might be out this Sunday to impress Jose Mourinho and his club to prove a point and attract some interest.
“I’ve got Alexis Sanchez as my centre-forward, which is undoubtedly his best position,” Nicholas stated on a recent Sky Sports show, when discussing his combined United and Arsenal XI.
“He looks like he’s trying to make a point when he’s out on the left. He’s barely involved in play, especially when you compare to the way he plays for Chile, and just doesn’t look interested. The only thing that I could think would motivate him is the transfer links he’s got with other clubs, which include Manchester United.”
