Eden Hazard’s Real Madrid Transfer Is OFF
Real Madrid have decided against signing Eden Hazard, which could mean good news for James Rodriguez.
According to reports in Spanish news outlet Diario Gol, Real’s president Florentino Perez has told manager Zinedine Zidane that he will not allow a move for Hazard to go through. This is mainly down to the re-emergence of Rodriguez, who has been a key player for the club in La Liga every time he is given the chance to play.
Rodriguez was reportedly said to be close to joining a host of European powerhouses, especially Manchester United, in the upcoming transfer window, in search of first team football. The Colombian has been left frustrated by a lack of playing time due to Zidane preferring the pair of Isco and Marco Asensio over him.
Los Blancos have been linked with a move for Eden Hazard on several occasions, and were said to be keen on bringing the winger to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
However, Perez believes Chelsea will not let go of the Belgian for less than £60 million, and the Real chief believes that the money can be used to strengthen other parts of the team instead.

A move for Hazard would surely have signaled the end of the road for Rodriguez at Real, but it now appears likely that he will remain with the club.
Jose Mourinho had been keen on bringing Rodriguez to Old Trafford, and with his former employers interested in signing United keeper David de Gea, he was set to demand that Real let go of the 25-year-old Colombian in return.
Rodriguez displayed his importance to Real with a brace during the club’s 4-0 win against Granada, which kept Real level on points with Barcelona at the top of the table with a game in hand on their arch-rivals.
The attacking midfielder has an incredible goals to minutes ratio, finding the net every 75 minutes – a record better than the likes of Dele Alli and Angel Di Maria. He has scored eight goals and set up six others for his teammates in the 20 La Liga games he has played this season.
