Manchester United are preparing a £128 million offer for Real Madrid duo Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez.

According to reports, both players are set to leave the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer, and Old Trafford could prove to be their most likely destination.

Rodriguez has been out of favour under Zinedine Zidane for most of this season. However, he has been given more chances to perform in recent weeks, and has not disappointed.

In fact, Real chief Florentino Perez apparently told Zidane to forget about signing Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, specifically due to the re-emergence of Rodriguez in recent weeks.

The 25-year-old Colombian international has been pivotal in Real’s title challenge, and despite reports claiming Real do not want to sell him, it may ultimately come down to the player, as he would need assurances over more game time.

It is unlikely that he will receive such assurances with Los Blancos, and hence he could be on his way out in the summer. He has been linked to the Red Devils on several occasions, with Mourinho seemingly interested in signing the attacking midfielder to bolster the creativity in his squad.

On Sunday night, Rodriguez was substituted in the 60th minute, but his walk back to the bench was a long one as he applauded the fans on all four sides of the ground. Reports suggest that this was a sign that he will be on his way out of the club in the summer.

Gareth Bale, on the other hand, has struggled with constant niggling injuries of late, and this could force him to leave the club once the transfer window rolls around in the summer.

According to Spanish news outlet Madrid-Barcelona, United would be willing to offer the La Liga giants a massive £128 million for both Rodriguez and Bale. Both players have been linked with a switch to the Theatre of Dreams, and it will be interesting to see how Real attempt to hold on to them in the summer.
